"I like the idea of bending reality just enough to make it interesting."

I often say that the storm will pass and the sun will shine again. That simple statement is the basis of all of my paintings. Struggling is an inherent part of human nature but the big lesson is how we humans pick ourselves up out of the darkness. It's the small lighted paths we find that start to give us direction. I look for these paths in my art. It's my way out and my way forward.

Sometimes bending reality in my paintings gets me on the right path. Sometimes color and abstract shapes gets me there. Either way the end result usually serves to make me feel better. That's the whole point. Did I feel good about what I painted. Did I contribute something positive to my life and possibly others.
